چکیده
We present a n o verview of SCIRun, a scientiic problem solving environment that allows the interactive construction, debugging, and steering of large-scale scientiic computations. Using this \computational work-bench," a scientist can design and modify simulations interactively via a dataaow programming model. SCIRun enables scientists to design and modify model geometry, i n teractively change simulation parameters and boundary conditions, and interactively visualize geometric models and simulation results. We show a n i n tegrated prototype problem solving environment for computational uid dynamics may be constructed by combining SCIRun with the Tetrad/CSPRINT codes. The success of the approach is illustrated by using the resulting code to solve an atmospheric diiusion example consisting of time dependent p.d.e.s on unstructured tetrahedral spatial meshes.

متن کاملPressure-Velocity Coupled Finite Volume Solution of Steady Incompressible Invscid Flow Using Artificial Compressibility Technique
Application of the computer simulation for solving the incompressible flow problems motivates developing efficient and accurate numerical models. The set of Inviscid Incompressible Euler equations can be applied for wide range of engineering applications. For the steady state problems, the equation of continuity can be simultaneously solved with the equations of motion in a coupled manner using...
متن کاملUnstructured Mesh Methods Applied to Hyperbolic Pdes with Source Terms: Error Estimates and Mesh Quality
The solution of hyperbolic systems with stii source terms is of great importance in areas such as combustion and atmospheric dispersion. The nite-volume approach used here for such problems employs a sophisticated splitting approach for eeciency and adaptive tetrahedral meshes to provide the necessary resolution for physically meaningful solutions. This raises the issues of how to estimate the ...
متن کاملApplication of the multidimensional positive de nite advection transport algorithm (MPDATA) to environmental modelling on adaptive unstructured grids
Twenty years ago, the multidimensional, positive de nite, advection transport algorithm was introduced by Smolarkiewicz. Over the two decades since, it has been applied countless times to numerous problems, however almost always on rectilinear grids. One of the few exceptions is the Operational Multiscale Environment model with Grid Adaptivity (OMEGA), an atmospheric simulation system originall...
